On the label of the vintage print: Excavations made in 1868 by the Pontifical Government, on the ancient Marmorata, or wharf for marble on the bank of the Tiber, under the Emporium, with the Clivus or sloping road up the cliff, and the corbel for fastening the ships (looking south).
